Is it past my bed time and I' m imagining things, or have the number of vehicles up for sale in our trader section gone up markedly in the past 6 weeks or so along with accessories?
Regards Bob

I think you're right Bob. Campers & Trailers seems to be up a bit more than usual as
well. Lucky buggers are probably all upgrading :))))))))))

Unfortunately that may be a lot closer to the truth Truckie. Looks like a lot of us will be tightening our belts somewhat. Should be a marked upsurge in the "
free camp sites" philosophy.

what's the deal with stuff that has been sold ages ago still appearing on the lists? does the seller need to let Dave & Co know it's gone?

Courtesy would dictate that you go in and delete your ad if it is not sold after a long period of time or if it has been sold. I had a vehicle on for 2 months, it didn't sell so I went in and cancelled it. Second son's luck changed the next day, He got the car for a case of beer.

We're looking at 'trading down' from poptop to light off-road tent-trailer; can't do...have to trade up to trade-down (in both price & comfort!). The prices are ridiculous!
Looks like we'll have to sell Privately and settle for 2nd hand.
As for dealers, bought ours locally in 2000 for $17.500 (a before GST deal); still in 'new condition', their offer now is $10k! Yet in the yard they have the same or older models with a price tag of $24k+!
And we're led to believe that vans hold their value! Maybe for dealer; hogwash for owner!
Pricing: when we bought our van (& paid deposit) they postponed delivery for a week needing it for 'display' at the local show (ok by us, but chuck in a back bumper & J/can holders for the convenience; yep, no prob!).
We rock up at the show, check 'our van' out... Price: Show Special $21.500 marked down from $23.999!
Couldn't resist having a go at the salesman. His excuse: there's a new model coming out, plus there's GST! Don't know how they do it!

Use one of the Caravan Trader magazines they have quite a bit of success.
As someone said on this site a few days ago this time of the year seems the right time to sell.
Best of luck Bob
