Ever had that sinking feeling that you were going to need more than just basic recovery gear? Check out these shots - I think they were taken today. I got them from The Age web site.

the funny thing is they ended up with not only those TWO machines stuck, but a third one came to the rescue suffered too!

Reminds me of the crane truck that went over on a pier and they brought in the bigger one to haul it out, and it went over as
well. There was debate if the photos of this were legit or fake.
Apparently it happened in a place called Roundstone in Ireland (Ahh, were else.?)

That was last week I think... They ended up with a heavy recovery truck down there and they snapped the cable... Not sure how long it took to recover them, expensive exercise as they were hired equipment... The bloke bogged the first one then hired another to get it out and bogged that one as
well...

A few years ago a logging excavator suffered a similar fate, but in a pete swamp. They brought in another excavator to dig out around it. That didn't work, so they planted a few plugs of jelly in a circle around it. Removed the air conditioner from the roof & blew the engine off its mounts.
In a few short days, all that was visible as you drove up to it was the top of the boom. I've no idea how they got it out in the end.
