I've just concluded a 3 state ramble with friends, out of
Adelaide - included the
Kimberley. Took a few photos at
Drysdale River Station - may be of interest to forumites........ go to my website - go to the PHOTOS page - then use the Drysdale link. We camped there one night - said g'day to Anne and took a flight too........ interesting place all round.

We were there in June. Drive into Drysdale was the best bit of gravel I've ever driven on. The Kalumbarru Rd in your photo must of been a good bit cos when we drove up to the Plateau the Kalumbarru road was absolute bleep e. BTW in June the price of ULP was $1.98.
Good photos BTW gives a good in sight into the place.

Diesel was $2.20 in July. To be accurate re roads, we only went to the MF turn off on the Kal. road - probably a whole lot rougher above that point to Kal. itself - re the MF track - we only went up about 25km - we suffered a bit of
suspension failure after very conservative driving - repaired on
the spot and then turned back - stayed at King Geo
river crossing campground - an absolute winner - having flown over the falls region a day or two later we gave the aborted drive to the falls little thought thereafter - not worth the pounding on equipment, in our view. The flight was full compensation, and more.

That's a shame as the road wasn't that bad (compared to the Kalumbarru Road). The worst bit was a few k's past the river and the grader was working westward. The day we left the plateau there were 28 vehicles in the quite
camping ground and about a dozen in the generator area.
cheers Dunc.
