Assuming you want to "fine tune" the time (+/- a couple of minutes or so)
Right click over the time in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Left click on the "Adjust Date/Time".
Position mouse over the minutes (under the clockface) and left click to highlight the two digits.
Use the up/down arrows to the right of the time to increment/decrement as required.
left click "Apply" and "OK"
This can also be done to any other parameter of the clock settings (hrs, date, month, AM/PM, etc)

There is a program called "about time" which when installed and used will automatically update your time to the second.I googled it and then downloaded and installed and use it occasionally to reset the computer time.I think the site is www.arachnoid.com

I think it is probably your computer clock out of sync with your software clock. You have to go into either the bios or cmos settings of your puter to set the clock as
well.

Time synchronisation is available in Windows,
Go to Cotrol Panel Date/Time and then click on the tab Internet Time and tick the box marked automatically synchonise with an internet time server, you have a choice of two different time servers.

IF you have XP operating System then what Notso says is true. If your time is wavering then this could indicate the CMOS battery is beginning to fail. Beware - If you remove the CMOS battery then the settings in CMOS will be lost. (the bit on the Mother board that tells the computer that it isnt an empty box). Either take it to a PC repairer to replace the battery - or if you are confident you can buy and install an external battery and connect it to the appropriate pins on the mother board -this allows you to then remove and replace the battery (the silver thing that looks like a 10c piece). OR put up with it (IF it IS the battery then one day it will die and the computer will just blink at you when you turn it on.
