g'day,
what are you using it for? hand usage, mapping, in car navigation, geocaching? gps works worldwide so no problem there, but if it has mapping no good over here. warranty no good over here, basic models sell here for under $300.

regards peter

Hunt
I would not but from any overseas location .Reason being that Member Peter D M is correct about the base map, I have always used Garmins and find them to be as good as it gets, I use a Garmin Quest ,just plain fantastic see for yourself on the links

For most situations the basemap is as good as useless due to its inaccuracies....up to several hundred metres in a lot of cases. If you are purchasing mapping software to go with the GPSr, then the basemap option is irrelevant.

Bought my GPSMAP 60cx from the states for $480.00 delivered. These are available off ebay from a local seller at a but it now price of $749.00. I use T4A as a guide and find it very user friendly. I do plan to but City navigator V7 when it comes out and have heard that Garmin are not far from releasing software primarily aimed at bush tracks. I do realise there is no warranty here in Oz but if you buy a decent brand name those risks are reduced.

cheers
