Just spent a good part of yesterday and today putting some wiring in the Prado ready for the charging circuit of the soon to arrive Karavan.

What lurks between that smooth shiny metal skin and that flat plastic interior.
Take some covers of and all will be revealed!!
But be careful when removing least you break any of the clips and humpty dumpty won't go back togeher again.

Hows all this fit?
Whats this little black box for? Oh the Electronic DAT (driver assist technology).

What!
Whose been here before?
What's all these little pieces of glass in a pile in the cable run under the passenger side sill cover?
And a piece under the rear door sill cover as well.

Has somebody had a smash here or are these silica gel crystals?
Hmmmm......verrrry interesting
If these walls could speak what stories they could tell........

What about the wiring you had installed and thought seeing it was an auto elect he would run it between panels and protect it mechanically. Not so!

What you can't see won't hurt you.

I am amased at the amount of wiring in a 747!!
Thats until I had a good look in my own Prado.

Would it be too much to manufacture the vehicle with say $50 worth of extra wiring for the trailer charging circuit and also the cable for the electric brakes and maybe the extra outlets for the fridge in the rear.

God we all end up putting the stuff in at some stage.

But like so much of life its what lies beneath the surface that is the substance of the object whether it be man, animal or man made object.

But for now the smooth shiny skin and the flat plastic are again covering what lies beneath.

The facade is restored.

The inside of my old Nissan looks like a spaghetti factory with wires running everywhere. There are even some red, earth wires.Wires for this and wires for that. Under bonnet it is worse!!!

Others look on in dismay and just shake their head in disbelief.....lol

It is amazing what can be found, especially old vehicles. Short cuts and poor workmanship. To do things properly (yourself), it all takes a lot of time. Time which no-one wants to pay for.
