Ours travel in homemade padded bags on top of the camper under canvas cover , are always last to pack away and first to unpack, padded bags are just made out of old mattress protectors , no problems so far.

Dags
I had some channels welded under the aluminium roof rack and slide then in there for transport. They don't interfere with any of the load and are easy to slide out to use.

I know that Adventure Campers in
Adelaide, have them mounted on the roof (if you want them)

I have laid
mine on the matress then simply folded up the camper. Only problems with this idea is you have to open the camper to pack them and then they make the lid heavier when lifting on the rams.

I'm with Marty,
Only difference is we stick our's under the mattress in the camper. Once everything is folded down the panel is held firmly in place, and protected by, the mattress.
They are fairly robust, so don't need too much protection. I reckon a 4" mattress will offer it all that is necessary. Anyway, after 20 months it is still in good nick.
Jim.
