I inquired about air bags for the rear of my vehicle and i was told it is illigal to have the controls mounted inside the vehicle, they have to be mounted outside?. I can only think its to stop someone activated it while driving.
Can some one explain why that would be please.

In the April 2006 edition of 4X4 Monthly there was an article on a GU Patrol called 'TARSUX' which had a full airbag replacement. The compressor switches and gauges for the front and rear airbags were recessed into the panel above the glovebox and nothing was mentioned in the mag above it's legality. In the magazine I thought I read as
well that this was so it could be adjusted on the move to keep the whole rig level.
I believe whoever told you that it was illegial was telling porky pies.

Well the bloke telling me this was a person that installs them as its his business. When he said that (via email) i just figured the vehicles that I have seen with them inside the cab are illegal.
May just fire an email back and ask why maybe its one of those "QLD" rules or its the case and people ignore it like some other mods that people get done.

Brian, i had them on my last ftruck & you had two option's,with compressor on board & the gadget's for the dash to pump the up or you could have the valves on the outside to do it manually.

This is the response I got when asked about the airbags. Thats why I was asking my dumb question.
Brian,
Thanks for the information. We have a kit available to suit the rear of the Rodeo. Please see pricing and part numbers below. Please be aware it is illegal to have controls mounted inside the cab, they need to be mounted external to the cab. All Airbag Man kits have full Queensland Transport Approval. Below are supply only prices as we do not fit here. I have also included contact details for one of our dealers in the area who will be able to supply price to supply and install.
So hence my question :) maybe its just a QLD thingie
