Hi 10para

Very much a bike I used to ride a bit called mountain goat

Site Link

Very good in some areas, particularly mud (wet mud) but not best in sand.

Do a bit of sand riding still and you need the power to bring up the front wheel and hold it up.
It also requires a balance and suspension travel that those great farm go anywhere things can't quite do.

If looking for a new , easy to live with bike, way below cost of mainline Yz250f etc
check out a honda CRF230.

Thats a very good point you make, i have not riden a bike much myself at all and thought that these would be great for the job but after reading the web site where they say that there is not a lot of power but due to the 2 wheel drive they dont need and just keep going, they also store the fuel in the wheel which i thought was good and can have a side car attached quickly with 1 bolt that would then give you just about a quad bike but allas as you say no power.

They look like a wonderful bike for some types of situations , so it would be very good to know your requirements up front, and if possible check it out under those
conditions. For a short run up a flat beach maybe its enough.

But bikes are like 4wds and its easy to make an unsuitable purchase.

These is a point to which floatation and slow speeds will work, and there is a more distant point where only power and momentum will take you.

They are sold unregistered. It might be possible to register them. Amazing the way they are set up. You can carry spare fuel or water inside the wheels. Come in red or green.

It looks like a posties bike after a heavy course of steroids! Interesting concept though.

Just for a little bit of trivia.....

Rokon built the first dirt bike with an automatic gearbox back in about 1972.

From memory it went like the "well known off the chrome" (chit off a shovel), but was a bit of a handful in the corners; changing gears when not wanted etc.

I've never heard of them since, that is until now.
