I see Prado's are dropping in price - $49,990 for a GXL! Does this mean Toyota are going to change the spec or bring in a new one soon?

Anybody got any rumours?

I'd love a bigger turbo diesel on one!

I think the price for the New Turbo diesel is going to be about $8,000 more than the current price, plus new mods the car, and an extra 10kw than the current hilux motor in diesel form only.

Fuel prices have got something to do about it. They claim they are selling more Prado's than Tarago's

Hi ,

I just got prices on a new prado V6 and asked about what new models are about to come. He said the only change is the roof racks will be added and nothing else on the GXL's.

And the diesels should not be any dearer ! Maybe he was wrong but he has no need to tell fibs as he is a friend. $8000 price rise idoubt it very much.

Maybe the 30% drop in sales of big 4bys has something to do with it.

The new TD motor won't make a huge difference - same torque, bit more power.

new diesel in the facelift prado will also be put in the next facelifted hilux aswell. Its the newer generation D4D they currently have in Europe and Japan. Power is up 10kW and Torque is up 20Nm, But its supposedly the way the torque is delivered, its supposed to be lower down and flatter torque curve.

Got no details on prices yet but will post them when I find out.
