Has any body heard of these clutches before 4TERRAIN (apparently made by PBR?)
and if so do they find them better then Daikin Safari. Am about to pull the gear box out as I have sprung a rear main leak so am going to replace the clutch at the same time but want to go heavy duty this time. Dont have turbo but do alot of 4wdring sand, weekend fun etc towing a camper trailer so want some thing that will take it. Any suggestions on what to fit other than these two or do I go genuine again. ??? Regards Steve M

Hi Stephen
I only ever use PBR in the workshop except in toyota's. In Toyota's I use genuine as they are the same price as PBR.
I have had trouble with Daiken in my 80 and customers cars, my supplier have informed me they have gone off lately so changed to PBR and no dramas.
Just my two bobs worth.
When doing the rear seal I would suggest to only use a genuine seal. A bit expensive but worth it.
How did you go with your swivel hub leak? Did you find anybody with the special set up tool?

Hi there Cruiser, yeah fixed the hub he surface ground the axle ( if that makes sense) and whacked in another seal so far so good didnt have to alighn any thing reckons it was all ok $320, he also uses a different grease more like a marine type grease the same for the wheel bearings and hubs cant remember the exact brand/type but reckons the one toyota uses is crap as it heats up and goes too runny and thats where you get the seepage around the hubs, mind you had no problems with the passengers side and thats still got the toyota grease in it. Yeah have ordered genuine rear main seal pick up tomorrow $56 cost price to me, so you reckon go genuine clutch over the Daikin. The prices are $190 for Daikin Standard, $278 for the heavy duty Daikin, $320 genuine Toyota. Heard today that Daikin actually make the Toyota dont know how true that is ??? What if later say I did decide to turbo would the standard clutch hold up, have told I would need to go heavy duty for that ??? Regards Steve M
