gday I am after some information on how much power you can get out of the 2.8d found in many a hilux through a aftermarket turbo kits. Im not worried about economy as I dont drive it every day I just dont want it to go bang again

Cost for a denco, HD clutch, bigger radiator, compression test & dyno and adjust of injector pump was around $6k to $7K. I didn't do any of the work, if you can do some yourself it may save a few $.
The dyno guys reckon that at 10psi boost the turbo doubled the HP at the
wheels. It sure felt like it did when driving. Also, it was mentioned that the turbo would improve fuel economy. I didn't notice any, I guess because I was enjoying the increase in power.
Overall, it was fine as longer as I wasn't towing, it all got a bit hot. cheers A

Been there,done that.Forget it.Spend your money on a another vehicle or price an engine conversion.
Didnt effect fuel consumption to much and drove a gear higher except when towing which is what I wanted
