my son is a mass fan of him, and Ive always admired him from his early days when he started doing shows.

Now, I've googled, and searched, but does anyone know of anywhere that would have any form of trip notes of the treks he does on these shows? he probably runs the trips out of his own head, but would be something different I reckon!

Bruce

not sure if this is what you are after, but he has published a book about a few trips.
"Explore Wild Australia with the Bush Tucker Man" - pub by ABC books.

Areas of interest are:
cape York
Gulf country
The Top End
The Kimberley
The Red Centre

each of theses sections has maps, a fact file, lovely pics & plenty of text

Isn't he the "Bush Tucker Man"?

Good to see that your lad is more interested in such issues than cartoons.

We have one of his books, mostly covers central oz, but it is still pretty good. My kids love 'the bush tuckerman' too, and love his tv shows! My son remembers a lot of what he sees on the show and actually can find water, and makes traps and such - just like the Les!!

The book is :

Explore wild Australia with the Bush Tucker Man.

It was purchased from the ABC website.

Hope this helps.

I have this book and it's excellent. The bush tucker man first got me interested in going bush as a youngster. My other half can blame him.

Don't think you'll find any, Bruce. Les did those trips before GPS was available, mostly using Army maps and local knowledge.

Hi John, maybe find notes on the early explorers trips that he used to retrace, he did a few retracings in his TV shows.

That'd be the way to do it Baz, but pretty sure you won't find anything from Les himself.

I doubt you would mind many of his actually routes.

I believe a lot was on either Private or Indigenous Lands.

Les was more about "this is whats out there" , not , "you can follow me by going here".

I remember Les did a show on a lost settlement in Central Australia. HE got the details out of an English newspaper. If anyone has any further information I would be interested as it has always interested me.
