Swapping Diffs

Hi all
I have a hj47 81 ute and was wondering if the diffs from a hj 60 84 wagon will fit my ute.
any Ideas

The actual diff centre should fit in the housing, the pinion flange should be the same as far as the tailshafts fitting.
There was a spline change on the axle shafts but can't remember when that took place.
The other alternative is to just change the whole housings complete, the 60 series is approximately 80mm wider track which would be good for stability on the 47.
The spring perches on the housings might have to moved but I 'think' they are the same.
You would also get disc brakes on the front.
You may need to fit the 60 series master cylinder if fitting the front disks though.

i have a hj 60 complete unit that I'm looking at taking as many parts off as I can.
Body work on the hj60 makes it a good canditate for wrecking.
