Hi Everyone

Can someone point me in the direction for a waterproof connector to suit 8-10mm wire. I want to be able to plug and unplug easily. Something like an anderson plug, but waterproof, any such plug on the market?

thanks

Rubber caps are available for Anderson plugs , and fill the back end of the plug with silicon , makes them as waterproof as you can get .

G'day Crazie!,
If the application is 12v DC Automotive, I would just go for the 50Amp Anderson plug : $12.95 each at Jaycar. If the insulation is quite thick on the cable, Go for the 120Amp one ($28.95) A bit of water protection as the guys above have mentioned should be quite adequate with a clean now and then.

50amp Anderson plug. Use a cap and seal the end with silicone if you wish.

Try ABR $9.95 Plug

Depends on what you mean by 8-10mm wire -

- 8mm diameter over the insulation
- 8mm diameter over the copper
- 8mm square copper cross section

Good point Mike....I get totally confused about bloody wire sizes!!! I just go into the shop and find the roll of wire that I need and buy it. There are so many different systems of measuring the damn stuff.

The one number to ignore usually (for runs more than a few metres) is the amperage stamped on the cable !!!

Amperage ??? whatts that ??? I always just use the "wire " that TOTALY fills the Anderson plug [ the wire , NOT the insulation ] = 8mm sq tinned as that is how I like it . LOL.

ok, ruin the obvious joke :-( If you check out your 2 postings you will see that you have included the same link twice, for no reason. I was only merely asking which link to use.........and my credible talent as a comedian has been dealt a huge blow.

Might have to stick with serious conversations on this forum now :-(

BTW, good link....i might be tempted to get some.
