Does anyone make a Poly
Water Tank (perhaps it needs a steel protection plate?) to go in the place of the under-rear spare of a 100 Series LC?
Looking for perhaps 80 litres - should fit in the space really easily and not make a significant dent on clearance.
I've looked at a flat one that OL sell, but it is about 100mm too wide.
Ciao for now
Andrew.

Andrew,
Between the seats and the _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx not an option? - a fair few advantages putting it here > Site Link

Hi Ivan,
No, I don't have the "luxury" of using that space but your setup has some great ideas that would work with where I want to put my
tank - I like the pressure activated pump concept a lot. Plus I have all that unused space down under.
Nice article.

Hi Andrew
I have one under my bed in the Troopie, 80ltr plastic , I am looking on the internet for a link but can't find one so i will go to the car and get a brand name, it is meant for Semi-Trailers , has a flat and rounded bottom but i just put it in flat to the floor and reversed the inlet and outlet and fill it by reversing the flow back through the tap so yo must have an air outlet so it can breath.be back soon with the brand name

the actual dimensions of it would be good to know too Doug.
The OL one is 1070x800x120mm
I am looking for (say) 900x700x160mm.

Can't help on the under-car
tank, but a friend fitted bladders to the cavities at the rear sides of his LC100. Seemed like a great idea at the time, but the plastic side wall trims holding the bladders in just bulged out once the
water was filled in the bladders. Deemed a failure!
Perhaps a sheet of steel sheet inside the trim might have helped.

They look good - the 40l is about thr right dimensions for two of them next to each other, which has other benefits as
well.
Now to look at the straps and retaining ;-)

Hi Andrew,
I fitted 2 of the 5 gallon red plastic jerry cans from Repco under the car. (Yellow cap ones)
One on each side. They fit like a custom
tank between the chassis rail and the side step. You just seal the caps onto them with silicone and drill / fit a dip tube and breather to them. I have a small sureflo pump under the bonnet that pumps them out one at a time and I pressure fill them from the same point. They hold 48L in total when full. They have been on the cruiser now for 6 years with out problems, no stone damage or leaks. I had to replace one ratchet strap the other day as it started to perish. I will do the other side before my next trip.
They are great for day trips and emergency
water. I can get 3 or 4 showers from them with
water to spare.
Regards Derek.
