I am just in the process of purchasing a annual all parks pass for WA and noticed that from the 1st Sept the prices are going up by 50%!!! Currently $51, and increasing to $75! Other passes are also increasing. So, if yours is about to expire (or even in the next few months), may be a good idea to get a new one now.

Cheers
Tim

We won't need a pass soon, as will will all be locked out of the parks if CALM have their way. It will get to the stage that unless you are employed by them "too bad too sad"
I am all for the management of the parks and don't mind paying for an access pass, but who died and made them boss?
Sorry bout the whinge but they give me the sh 1 t's

If your going to whinge, at least call them by thier real name- The Department of Environment and Conservation (me thinks) or DEC for short. LOL

Its sad that the management of parks is going this way, although the water corp seem to be more proactive into the locking of parks and bushland due to water catchment. Its a real catch 22, lock up an area, forces everyone to go to other areas, that area becomes overloaded and degraded, so that gets locked up and so on and so on.

A lot of lobyying is being undertaken by stakeholder groups at the moment, and much of it is ongoing. However my personal views of some of the groups undertaking this lobbying is, well, best kept to myself. Unfortunately, with most things, its a reactive process. A bit of forward thinking by government and stakeholder groups would, IMHO be more productive, and provide positive outcomes for all concerned.

As for who died and made them boss, it was your faithful state leaders back in 84 with the proclamation of the Conservation and Land Management Act of 1984. P.S. They're probably not all dead yet LOL

My pass was due to expire in September and I was informed of the price rise by CALM / DEC by way of letter. It came with the suggestion that I update before Sept. 1. It was only half the price for postage through Exploroz rather than purchase through CALM / DEC website.

Easy to guess where I bought mine.

for what it's worth here is my bitch on fees - a couple of weeks ago i nearly thought to camp at millstream...........$16.50/night and with deep reach closed off anyway..........needless to say i slept the night along the tom price rail access track and enjoyed the sounds of trains for $0.............i guess i may go and get a pass tomorrow to 'save' a bit...............the increase must be for the new uniforms and stickers on the cars and all the new stationery changes and all those signs around the state that currently say calm now have to change to dec and all those glossy brochures and management plans and i guess the minister and the grovelling minders will need to travel overseas now to see how others do it and on and on and on it goes - never ever will the fees go down when a 'new' govt department is formed. rgds
Slow down and relax......
