Dave - if you wanted ATs from the BFG range then why include MTRs from Goodyear's range? Not exactly comparing like with like. Sorry - can't answer question directly as I have neither. And unless someone currently has (or has owned) both then it's going to be difficult to get a meaningful reply. The Silent Armours haven't been out very long so I doubt you'll get much info regarding longevity. There are however heaps of posts on the MTRs with I'd say 99.9% satisfaction. Incidentally you didn't say what sort of driving conditions you need the tyres for. That info may help others to provide better advice.

David,

I recently switched from BFG ATs to Goodyear MTRs and like others on the forum I have been very pleased. You might look at getting say 265 or 285/75 x 16 tyres on some steel wheels. You can then keep the originals for round town and final sale. The wheels cost about $110.

Dave,

The only real difference is appearance. If you want a ballsy looking tyre go the MTR; If you want a road-looking tyre, go the Silent Armours.

As I've mentioned a lot before on this forum, I've used both on the terrain you're talking about, and both are good.

Cheers
