Kir and I have just planned our next holiday, usually there is alot of planning and purchasing going on. This is the first time ever that we are not packing the 4wd and heading off. We both have had a very busy year and we have decided to head to the
Cook Islands for just over a week. Some where just to kick back and relax. It is a new concept jumping on a plane for a holiday and not for work or not leaving leaving the house going through several checklist. The 4wd's are feeling left out, but its all good. hahaha
Little does kir know I have booked a 4wd when we get there hahaha

It's been a few years since I was there, but it is a magnificant place. Friendly people, great lifestyle, and the
water...
Take your watch off, and leave it at home. Every thing runs on "
Cook Island" time, If your in a hurry, you will be the only one.
You do just wonder if the 747 is going to stop in time though. Not a lot of room on the island for the run way. You get pretty close to the
water if coming in from the West.
Have fun.

I also went there a couple of years ago , had a great time .
We went on a really good tour , a historical one , the guy had a couple of Defenders and drove us all over the island with all the stories to go with it and lunch then a walk over the highest part of the island and a swim it the coldest
creek on the planet.
We hired a car later in the week and found it was a bit of a waste , the drive around the island didnt take that long from memory , we stayed at a really small hotel not a resort and just ate locally.
Hope you have a good time .
Glenn.

Mate,
As you
well know, Jenny and I do a lot of
camping trips, but love our trip each year to Bali or Thailand or wherever we may choose to go next year.
The experience of other cultures and countries is something you can't experience in Australia. The joy of mixing with, and understanding different ways of life, is simply remarkable.
My only counsel to you is don't just only kick back and enjoy the resort (you can do that in QLD). Get out for a day or two and explore the country, mix with the locals, perhaps even get invited into one of their homes.
It will give you a new perspective on life.
Have a great time Big Man and Little Girl.
Cheers,
Jim.
