Hi all,

How many turnbs do people turn their Lightforce 240 Blitz lights to get from pencilbeam to spreadbeam.
Will the light(cover) rattle off if you unwind itso it turns loosely.
I turned it maybe 6 full revolutions before it came off.

Thanks
Kata

Kata, I have a broad beam in hilly and windy conditions but half a turn is heaps. Normally I have my beams as a horizontal figure 8 but have more overlap with the wider beam and higher too

Hi Kata ,

I was told not to unscrew lense more than 3/4 of a turn if you go to far the heat from the bulb can damage the reflector. I have not had any prob's with them moving. You can put a cable tie around the ratchet mechanism to stop it moving.

Kata

I am running these lights, I have the driver side light wound right in for a pencil beam and the passenger side wound out about 3/4 of a turn to create a spread that is just in front of the ordianry high beams. I have debated getting a second smaller pair to point out to the sides, but we don't have that big a problem with roos around here so I haven't bothered. If you wind the lenses out too far you will screw it out past the seal and the light will not be waterproof anymore. How far is too far? ask three different people and get three diffrerent answers, you may want to speak to Lightforce in Adelaide. With my set up as above I have submersed them on a few occasions and not had any problems. Otherwise you can buy the clip on covers for around $20-$30 each.

Regards

Snowy

Hi Kata,

When we fit the lights for customers we set and focus them with the reflector fully tightened.
Customers are advised to turn them out no more than 180 deg to obtain a wide beam.
We have combo covers for a wider beam and normaly only fit it to the L.H. side.

Regards Derek.
