Guys
October school holidays are coming up soon and as usual i probably will have to take some time off work to look after one son. So i thought how about a day trip some where. Last year we did
the beach so i am thinking this year about mud and gravel.
I have still got some commitments at work that may see me not able to take some time off and i wont know till later but i am wondering if any one would be interested in a midweek daytime jaunt somewhere?
I am also open on ideas as to where at this stage as
well.
Alan

If you don't mind a longish day and/or a bit of a drive - the area around Harvey has plenty of mud, ruts, hills, etc for you to have a play on.

Hi Alan,
I know you said 'one day', but we have just done a weekend trip that the kids would just love.
We went to
Dryandra Village just north of Narrogin (about 2 hours from
Perth).
We stayed overnight in CALM woodcutters cottages for around $20/head (everything supplied except bedding). At night they have a fantstic night enclosure down the road where you get a talk and wander round and see all the native ozzi animals in there natural environment. I had a Bilby come up and lick my shoe!
There is also plenty of gravel roads and out of the way spots to satisfy your 4x4 cravings.
Great weekend!
Steve

We have just recently (fortnight) did the trip out to
Elachbutting Rock at Muckinbudin. Thouroughly recommend it.
The shires of Mt. Marshall, Koora,
Wyalkatchem, Muckinbuding
Trayning have got together a brochure called "see the real Country" or similar - not sure. Any how, you can see a lot of rocks in the area, more if you include Merredin, and if you are into museums, I thouroughly recomment the museum at Nungarin - located in one of the old army transport buildings. At
Wyalkatchem, you have the CBH and agriculturual museum.
Lots to see.
Elachbutting rock is AMAZING even if the season is so dry.
give that a go.
