Caravanners converting their 4WDs to LPG should be wary. According to a story in Caravanning News, motoring organisations and an insurance company say there are pros and cons and that people should take care. Mind you, I have a diesel and I'm told I can't convert to LPG anyway.

Hi Wizzy,
You can convert to CNG or compressed natural gas but there are very few outlets that sell this (what most Diesel buses are converted to).
Otherwise you can install LPG fumigation onto your diesel for better performance. I believe the government are honouring the rebate for LPG kits installed on diesels so instead of $2000 - $3000 for an install it ends up around $1000 after the rebate.

David

Yes David your correct,
Im considering the LPG setup on my diesel GQ 4.2. It will end up costing me 1600.00 after the rebate of 2000.00. Not a bad deal for around 20% increase in power. Im just waiting for a road test on a GQ so i cna feel the difference before i decide to go ahead with it.
