Hi
I am trying to find 17" rims to fit my trak shak so it will match the Prado. Does any one know a good place to look for them around
Geelong or
Melbourne. I can get the 6 & 1/2" ones for $40 but the ones I want are the 7" ones which are around $260?
At the moment the CP has 265/70/16 dunlops on. Diameter 773.
The Prado has 265/65/17 coopers ATR on ,diameter 775.
Are CP tyres better to be wider or narrow, hwy or off road pattern?

Is a CP like a CT ?
Not sure where to send you for the rims but in answer to "better to be wider or narrow, hwy or off road pattern" I think it's best to be the same as your Prado so that you can swap them around.
You might try ebay and/or the trading post for rims.

Hi Lachie,
Sorry to latch onto your post but I am chasing a 1997 Prado Grande wheel rim to be used a spare. Preferably Alloy if the price is not stupid or steel the other option.
I have just done the same thing with my Trailer by matching it up with Galvanised Cruiser Rims and BFG A/T tyres. I had to hunt around to get the rims as they are scarce and expensive. I also have the same rims and tyres on my boat trailer.

Lachie,
Not sure which 17" rims the Prado has but i have a 100 sEries and a Trak Shak and i had rims put on it that are almost identical to the 100 series and these came out of a place in
Adelaide that the peopel from Trak Shak sourced them from.
They are ever so slightly different to the cruiser rims in design but you ahve to look twice to notice it. IF the Prado 17" are the same as the 100 series then i would call the gys at Trak Shak and ask them where you can source them from.
I got a price from
Melbourne as
well and they were cheaper in Adliade plus they were able to put them striaght on the CT from day one so it was easier for me that way.
Hope it helps,
Mark

You could get by with the rims you've got. In an emergency, your 16 inch rims will fit onto the rear of the Prado (but not the front). Diameter is the same. Try it out.
