3 inch lift in New Hilux

In the States it seems the norm to lift the tacoma 3 " . They look really similar to the front end on a new hilux and prado. They recommend the use of a front diff drop kit ($25 usd) to fix the cv angle problems that you get when going over 50 mm

Can anyone see a problem doing the same thing with our new hilux here.
Seems a good way to get a 3 " lift without the worry of the cv joint angle problem we get when going over 50mm. But if its that simple why is there not people doing it already.
