Hello, I need some advise please.
We have purchased a 17 ft Majestic Tourer and are now looking at having an Annex made for it. We are in South Aust. any idea where to get the best price?
1. People keep telling us conflicting information yes get one no dont get one so what is it?
2. Where to have to door on the annex. We have a rear door on the caravan, so I think we should have the door near the door of the caravan. My husband disagrees, so I am turning for information from those how have one and what should we do.
Look forward to haring from you.
Cheers, Maria

Can't help with where to get it made but as a caravanner, we had one with our first van and used it about twice in 6 years. That said the two times we used it it was great.
We had it divided into two rooms and as you say we had the door of the annex near the door of the van. If you put it the other end you have to walk through the annex to get to the van door.
Anyhow after all that we now have a new van and just opted for a roll out awning.

Had ours manufactured by Sar Major Canvas Goods
25 Pinn Street, St Marys SA 5042
Ph (08) 8276 2411 Fax (08) 8276 3558
Have a look at their website as
well
www.kenmajor.com/ then go to canvas goods.
They have a range of options and you can custom design where you want things like doors, etc. Our advice is get windows in all walls for through ventilation.
Our door sits at the van door end wall. Have a look at the pictures for tips.

Hi Maria, we just replaced our old annex with a roll out awning, the universal awning walls we also bought with it are in different pieces and zip togeather in what ever combination you like so the door and windows can be where ever you like.
You can have more than one door if you like and it is much easier to put up. We bought it from www.coastrv.com.au

Hello Wazza, thank you for the information, it is a good idea to be able to put up different pieces to suite your needs. Tell me did you buy the annex from the company you gave me the website and how did you know what to order. Would be interested to hear more.
Cheers, Maria

Yes Maria the same company told me all about it, previously I knew nothing about awnings and the walls that you could attach to them. All I knew was about our old annex with walls attached so was very hard to slide into the sale track as
well as having to take a ladder to do it. The company told me what was available for the carefree awning I purchased and I chose the combination of wall panels to suit, the beauty of it is some times we only need the front and back panels, leaving the whole side open as we have a double sail track with a 20' tarp above the awning for when we
beach camp.

Oh I forgot to mention The front panel has a window and a zip for a door and we chose two door panels and a window panel that slide on to the side, our van is 16' all the walls window panels can be rolled up so you then have what looks like a fully screened enclosure, very versatile.

I down loaded the cataloge from that website, did you buy a kit form? I live is SA
so I would have to purchas by phone or via the internet and I am a bit dubious that I'll order the wrong thing. Do you recommend I perhaps ring the company and tell themwhat I want and they can advise me?

Yes Maria I would talk to them, they should be able to advise you as to what suits from what you tell them about your needs. I live in
brisbane and so I was able to visit their in store display, I found them very helpfull and they even delivered the awning for free although I do live in the same city. I even spent more money with them on a hot
water system they also supply jayco with.

Hello Wazza
Wanted to run a question by you. I have found someone in SA that can make the annex in pieces so we can have a window one end and a door and window at the other. But wanted to know what would be the best idea for the side have one large window or have two that can zip apart, Would be interested in you view.
Cheers, Maria

Hi Maria,
That does sound good and local to, I can only share our experience with ours we have two door panels and a window panel that zip together on the side.We seem to change where we have the door depending on the site we have and which way the wind is blowing. You having 2 window walls on the side would be ok in my mind as you could unzip it anywhere and make it a door if you wanted to, the big plus is not having to man handle big lengths of wall panels.
