I am thinking of doing a caravaning trip from Shepparton,Vic to Eden,N.S.W. and ask what would be the best route that would not be too hard on my 1990 Ford Maverick. (very hilly country)
Regards.....Greg.

Greg,
The route I'd take would be straight down Hume to Melb., then via Ring Rd & city link throught to Princes Highway and then keep going. Suggest this is easiest & fastest way.
Regards
Roosey

Greg, Agree with Roosey. I go there reasonably often from Romsey, and while the map looks tempting over the mountains or through
Canberra I reckon you'll be happier going the other way. I have done it through
Canberra and spent a night there also, but would still go through Melb. As a matter of interest if you haven't been to Lake Wonboyn area, check it out.
Regards,
Craig.

I support Craigs comment re Wonboyn Lake, glorious spot on the coast.
I don't particuarly like Wonborn Village itselfe prefer going in from the other side, which entails entering from the Eden Woodchip Wharfe side for want of a bwetter description

check out www.whereis.com.au You can map either by shortest time or shortest distance. You will save 1hr and 100km if you go via
Cooma but it is hilly.

I'm sure your Ford Maverick would do ok on the run via Wodonga -
Khancoban -
Jindabyne -
Bombala - Pambula - Eden.

The only problem with this is it depends on what sort of caravan you are towing. Having gone from Sheparton to
Jindabyne last January I wouldnt do it towing a caravan at all.
