Am looking for a unit to take
camping to run my son's computer, charge phone batteries etc. Can anyone recommend a
Brisbane supplier for an inverter? Or can a better deal be obtained from an on-line supplier? Any information welcome. Thanks in advance from the Moose.

Tell your son you could only find a unit that will charge phones. That way he gets to enjoy the outdoors and you don't have to cart the pc around.))))))
My eldest goes to sleep with his! I think.

Bob - nah, we need it to download the pics off the digital camera. Plus when he's playing games or watching videos on it he doesn't annoy his sister.
Cheers from the Moose.

Hi Moose
Springers are also on the Bald Hills flats just past the Brendale flyover in that set of shops before The Warehouse there at Strathpine, if you're on the northside.
Otherwise, I can't help you.

I use one of these:
Can Sized 140W 12VDC to 230VAC Inverter from Jaycar in my work Crummydoor for running a lap top and charging a camera battery. To charge you phone get a gheap 12 volt car kit for your phone - it is a lot more efficient.
Cheers

Dick Smiths had a 300watt DSE Pure Sine wave inverter for $194 the other week. May still have them on their books at that price.

Hi Moose,
Make sure to buy a good quality unit.
I sell a large quantity of
inverters and many to people who tried the elcheapo units first.
Give me a ring if you wish.
Regards Derek.

Taken a different approach here Moose.
All of our stuff runs more or less direct off 12v without need of invertor.
Hence also less issues if the invertor fails as everything dependant on it stops to.
Our laptop(Toshiba) is one thats has 14v mains charger - hence it can run
direct from 12v.
The phones have little 12dc plugin socket leads , as does kids Ipod
and even electric shaver can run direct off 12v.
Saves having dangerous volts and leads around to, espically in wet
camp.
