Interesting to note that non genuine engine rebuild kits are now available for 3lt patrols on Ebay. $1500 for O/S pistons, bearings and gaskets and another $1500 for a bare cylinder head. Pretty good value compared to the genuine Nissan prices and having to buy a replacement block because they only make standard size pistons!!!. The advertised patrol for 9 grand would be a bargin for anyone looking for a cheap 4x4. I reckon an all up rebuild with machining costs, labour and a new clutch would work out at about $6000, thats a $15000 gu patrol with a brand new motor, good value

It doent instill a lot of confidenc in the 3L turbo.
The owner paid $26K it 13 months ago and is now prepared to lose $15K.

You might do it for $6k if you remove and install it as
well a strip it back to a long motor.

The vehicle has done 260,000 km's so if it needs a new engine I think thats not unrealistic.
Well all know some vehicles will last longer than others, it sounds like this guy may have looked after the vehicle, who really knows. No photos is a bad move on his behalf, ok he will send you some but typically for a vehicle sale youd expect to see them first up.

as said in the other thread on this, I asked the seller if he ahd contacted nissan as they do assist owners of handgrenades.
he said yes, "nissan agree with me" or similar. Noting that his isnt up on his list of questiosn asked by bidders etc.
SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT IN DODGE ...
