G'day all, I am going to make a couple of 12v lights along the lines of the Arlec work light model, but I noticed that you can buy replacement Torpedo light globes. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of fitting the Torpedo's have, if it's a standard type or if you could make something to suit. Thanks Paul.

Hi Ooze ,
Buy a cheap set of 240 volt party lights from Big W,about $29.00, Cut the 240 volt plug off, put a ciggie lighter plug on as they are only 2 strand wire and buy a couple of 12 volt bayonet connector bulbs from Bunnings, string the wire up around your
camp and you have a choice of 10 different positions for your bulbs. Thats all we use and it works a treat.
Cheers RosscoH

DO NOT get these bulbs mixed up with your 230 volt spares :-))

Maybe those new CFL's would be better. If they come with a large bayonet fitting. dunno about that. These new fluros are super efficient and work directly off 12volts.
