Mark, you will be in one of the most beautiful
places - why would you want to watch TV when you could be outside by the campfire watching stars, moon, planes, satellites - or better still - catching whiting at night? I grew up there.

Got a place at
Tin Can Bay and the reception is marginal there. Tin Can has a local repeater but very low power and UHF only , I would,t imagine it penetrating as far as Teewah especially in the shadow of the coastal dunes . As I understand it the only other relevant transmitters are
Maryborough (too far away ) and the transmitter that supply the Noosa region ( I don,t know where that one is )
In summary as Ruth says above enjoy the natural ambience leave the cretenizer at home.
Cheers Dave L

Hi markcas,
This my first time on this
forum, when I read your post I had to share our experience with TV reception at Teewah beach as I get 8 or 9 crystal clear stations. I presume you mean the 15 km of beach
camping at Teewah Beach
camping area that we visit 3 or 4 times a year and am going in 2 weeks time I might add.
We have an UHF Phased Array
TV Antenna similar to the one Dick Smith sells for about $65, it came with our van, I just bought a Kingray UHF⁄VHF Masthead Amplifier with Power supply from them and we have not looked back.
Love the place

Yes Mark we have been there the last 3 christmases, but there are at least 7 to 10 of us that
camp togeather so the caravan
park affect doesn't bother us so much, some of us go very early on and some of us stay for new year.
I don't think I would go if it were just my family on our own, as we have had tent pegs of the next
camp placed under our van, that is how close they were, and we did not know them so that is not much of a get away from it all holiday experence in my book.
For a fine weekend away a tv is not an issue but keeping the kids amused if it rains while we adults have a drink or eight it is a god send.

Wazza do you have your aerial up high or out close to
the beach? The tv is for kids at night while adluts sit at fire with drink in hand.Christmass might go to Fraser to get away from crowd's and hopfly find a spot.

Mark works high or low I happen to have it up high as the van came with a mast I attach to the draw bar. In windy weather I drop it down to head height and the reception is the same, I think the amplifer boosts to 48db from memory so up or down, close to or far away from the surf is not really an issue.
