Hi All,
Have a 98 LX Rodeo with a 3.2L (6VD1) petrol engine, and I was wondering if you guys now of other car models that use this same engine?
The reason is I'm up for a full rebuild, and was weighing up a replacement engine instead. If there are other car models that use this engine, the more
places I have to look for an engine through the wreckers.
Thanks in advance,
Baddie

If you wanted to go diesel you could put a 3.1TD plenty import motors around, about $4000. Most of the people that import motors will probably have the V6s including the 3.5 V6. Check them out in the 4X4 Trader mags.
Cheers Bruce

Agree with Bruce. If (or when) our 3.2 V6 donk gives up the ghost - I would be thinking very carefully about bunging in a low mileage import diesel.
If ya get one of those 4x4s For Sale magazines, there are a few advertisers that handle s/h engines.

The 3.2 V6 also came in the Jackaroo's and Frontera's.
I have been told the the newer 3.5 V6 will also fit straight in.
The 3.0TD is also a great engine. Fitting on of these shouldn't be too hard either.

Yeah sweet. Started having bad thoughts considering I'm off to
Cape York in 2 days. Heart rates down...... all good. Its not the first time Ive heard horror stories about the 3.2 V6. Actually I know a couple of mechanics who have had a few of 'em in to rebuild. Usually bad service history or high kms(250+) though.
