Hi all, I have a 2002 105 series std landcruiser wagon. about 4 years ago, I had some aftermarket self adhesive "trims" stuck to the exterior of the door and panels a la' a rich man's GXL. its not too bad, but they're starting to come off with time, and they're not very wide.

I reckon I can do better - So... Does anyone know a supplier/fitter of after market trims and decal etc, where I can buy some exterior door "trim" or whatever you'd like to call it??? Im in inner eastern melbourne FWIW.

Oh - Mr toyota would like a measly $400 a section - thats 4 doors, 2 quarter panels.... bye bye mr toyota, thanks for your help.

Thanks people,

Jarrod.

why or why would one want to do that?

If it weren't for the holes in the guard and panels I'd leave mine off - they get torn off regularly anyway.

When I've had to buy them (you can probably find my old ones out on the Nullabor somewhere), they've been about $50-$100 a piece from Toyota dealers - $50 for the smaller ones; more for the bigger. In my checks they cannot be found in local wreckers, although I didn't try the bigger ones in BNE and PER.

I think they call it mouldings and their parts interpreter had no problem finding it. The standard ones have posts behind them (I guess to ensure they locate properly) which fit into sqaure holes in the panels.

Ciao for now
Andrew.

Hi Andrew-
Why would I want to do this ??? simple - Looks. In my opinion, it looks better than the std wagon. There's no way I'll drill holes in her, but some adhesive's would do.

Thanks for your input.

Jarrod.

p.s. although its tempting, I probably won't travel the nullabor looking for your old ones!!

Jarrod, I reckon you can get special sticky tape for mouldings. Double sided stuff.
Try the auto accessories shops or even a crash repairer.
It's pretty successful. I have used it before, but it was given to me to re-attach some bumpstrip on a car that I once owned.
