maps for cape york

planning a 3month trip to cape york, just me, the truck, a tinnie and the new wife!

just wondering what maps people recommend. I plan to take both paper and will also have the laptop and oziexplorer.

does anyone have any paper or digital maps for nth qld they would be interested in selling?

If you want a good book to guide you around the cape then get your hands on Ron & Viv Moon book, Cape York "An Adventure's Guide". You won't be sorry you did.

I 2nd Ron and Viv Moons book, I would not do the cape without it.. but I also too the Hema Cape York Map and CD Rom. Both excellent.

3rd the Moons book.
Should be able to download some 1:250,000 from Geoscience australia for free.

Hema Cape York on CD is a good map.

Also Raster Natmap on DVD is another.

i always find the free racq maps with all the distances very usefull and never needed anything else..
