Hi BBB
If you're planning on doing the canoes at
Lawn Hill you may find you might have to book them in advance, at the
water's edge. If you find you have to wait then go for a walk to kill time for your time slot. A good walk to do is
the Cascades (kids can have a dip) or the Wild Dog or Wild
Dingo Dreaming Walk depending on how much time you have to wait, of course.
Also, if you intend to do the Stack or Escarprment walks (my favourites), try to do them early in the morning as posible, it's less humid and more importantly - better photo opportunities of
the gorge with the light and colours. It's best to start the
Escarpment walk from the canoes, walk along the boardwalk to the
Ranger's office and go up that way and come back along the cheats track, then to do it the other way around. There are loose rocks on the steep descent of both walks, so be aware. If the kids want to go for a quick dip at the waterfalls at any time then go the cheats way, that's the 800m track near near the toilet/shower block.
Enjoy yourselves, it's a great place to relax.

Sounds a great trip and you'll no doubt have a wonderful time.
I just love the mis-spell on Loins Den - let me assure you it can be that kind of place if you over indulge in the Bundys.
Enjoy
