Hi all
Just before I go and order a LOKKA for my TD JAck, just wondering if there have been any new opinions or experiences with them, in any vehicle, since the last round of posts in relation to these diff locks. Any problems encountered, manufacturing faults, warranty claims, driving problems etc.
Will be using
mine mainly for beach/dune, occasional mud.
Experience from other late model Jackaroo owners especially appreciated.

D Jack I'm about to fit a Lockright in the front of my Patrol, (very similar to a Lokka) a mate of
mine has one in the front of his Jackeroo and he has had no problems with his in his TD Jack and I'm happy to follow his example.

ok , so i asume, you want a LOKKa from
Adelaide . they work
well , forget the fitting it yourself in the driveway crap they pedal.
It will have to go to a diff place , so they can space it according to the ware in your diff.
Mine worked
well , but I did shear the pins once , not covered under any warranty , not a expensive item , but a pain to pull the center out again.
My next one will be a TJM version.
I will be fitting a air locker in the front from ARB, there been around a long time . I know the TLM lockers are a JM product , but havent been around long enough to prove them selves to me yet.
The reason I want to run both , Mechanical and air locker ? to have a working locker if either fails . If my compressor fails , I wouldnt hav any lockers , so this way one or the other will work.

Hi D-Jack, I have just put one in the front diff in my Isuzu MU which is the same Lokka as you will need and so far it is brilliant. I replaced my auto locking hubs at the same time, put manual ones in, and yes unless you have full work
shop it is a big job, first you have to pull the front end out of the vehicle.
Probably the most important thing when you have a Lokka fitted is not to give it the gas when driving it in extreme situations, could brake a cv, but with the Lokka you dont need to give it the gas just let it walk up and over, great no spinning
wheels less dust just great. My mechanic charged me $230 good value when it took 6.5 hours, his first one. Some times its good living in a little country town.
Cheers Bruce

If you want to buy something cheap that could let you down when the going gets tough go and get LOKKA but if you want something that is a bit more expensive and won't ley you down when the going gets tough go and buy yourself a Detroit No-Spin ,check links

Save your money and buy an air locker you can turn on and off.
Had lockrights in a 60 series years ago, once you engage 4wd they lock and stay locked, the wind up between front and rear diffs keep a load on the locker.
