$2500 gaining you 18kw doesnt seem that great when some offer 35% more power for less $.

But as long as ya happy :) its a 4.2, how couldnt you be happy :D

Hi Crayman,

Std 4.2 turbo (not I/C) runs about 65kw at the rears so getting 118kw (I presume at the rears) is a good outcome in my opinion.

Trevor.

These are from Andy at Diesel Tek in Lilydale.

First is standard td42t with 3" exhaust and dump pipe, boost adjustment and fuel to suit.

2nd is a vehicle that came to us already highflowed but lacking a little, had a dts i/c, exhaust, we set boost and fuel to suit.

3rd is our high performace setup, modified pump, owner supplied turbo, i/c and manifold to suit.

From a standard 65kw without to a 100kw just by adding a 3" exhaust cost you about $850, but that extra 18kw power cost you $2500.

You must have a big heavy Van that only gives you 4.1 litres per Kms and a heavy foot, at what speed do you travel @ also b4 the 3" exhaust what was your fuel consumption?

Hi SA Patrol
My Van is a fullsize coramal Tandem 18 offroader with patrol wheels and roof mounted aircon, car has covered roof rack ,plenty of wind resistance , main prob is i probably travel a bit fast ,try and maintain 100klms an hour, fuel b4 exhaust upgrade under 4 a litre, i am sure its going to b better with latest upgrade different car to drive know ,85 -90 klms would undoutably give me better consumption but you gota get there ,goin to kalgoorlie and back shortly will post how she goes then

When i first got my GU3 4.2 last Xmas from Santa we got 960 kms from 123 litres of fuel, without roofrack and drove under 95 km/h, now we drive about 100 to 110 and get 800 to the tank, I hate driving slow out in the bush. It's interesting to see how much fuel they chew with weight behind it.
Drive Safely. :-)
