Just finnished reading a book that someone loaned me (they may not get it back). Called TANAMI, by Keiran Kelly, it tells of two men walking across the Tanami. Really interesting stuff. Anybody else come across this book?

Yes, have had that one for a few years.
It's a good read about travel through a remote part of Australia rarely visited.
I'd like to visit the area south of
Mount Wilson one day - maybe in a few years.

Yeaj I've read it, I found it made our trip through there this year more interesting, I had found it difficult to comprehend how thick the scrub could be from his book but now haviong seen it and battled to find a
campsite I can understand!

Hi Mike ,
I read it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it . I was discussing it with the camel man in
Alice Springs , and he just laughed and said "why didn't they ride the camels ?"
Hopefully I am going on a one week camel trip west of Alice later this year . My only effort , so far , at riding a camel , was a short trip along
the beach at
Broome and it was bloody uncomfortable . Hmm .
A great book I read on WA is "Digger" by Max Andserson ISBN 0 330 49200 4 . It relates his experiences going out into the goldfields for a year to look for gold .
Cheers ,
Willie ( OldMike3 ? )
