I don't know with those particular brands but I came across detailed explanation about 'chips' on the LCOOL website maybe good idea to check it out

Hey m8, Have you looked into gettin ya car hooked up to the additional gas systems they now do? You will get about the same power and torque increases around 20% and about 25% increase in mileage. The systems cost about $40000 but minus the government rebate of $2000 ( plus an additional $1000 if you live in WA) means that it only costs either 2grand or 1grand. I think the dtronic systems cost $1500 but all you get is the power, no extra 300klms per tank no cleaner running.Some food for thought. I was gonna get a Dtronic for my Nissan 3ltr turbo diesel.....but not any more!! Im booked in for my Diesel Gas conversion = )
