Hi All. Just swapped from our GUII to a GUIV. Very happy with both so please no knockers. We were not very impressed with the 17 inch tyres, however life is full of compromises. After having a good look at the rims however (very square and "blocky") I started to wonder if my R&R Beadbreaker would work on them.

Anyone had any experience?

Steve (&Paula), you'd be lucky to find anyone who's used a beadbreaker on a 17" GU4 wheel in anger!

The R&R is a good piece of gear, and they say its OK on 17 inch rims. I guess you'll have to give it a go at home and see what happens. It usually doesn't scratch alloys, but tyre irons can.

I've been able to avoid beadbreakers lately - just plug punctures, and get the tyre shop to do the hard work back home. Also saves sweat on your holiday.

I have tried a beadbreaker and it breaks the bead well,,,, but just wait till you have to peel the tyres off with the levers.......
MAN,,,, can you do some scratch damage to those nice shiny wheels....
Good luck...
