Hi All,
I have searched the
forum and cannot find info on the setup of Dual Battery Systems for Nissian Navara's
My Question is does anyone know where the Dual Battery Tray would sit in the engine bay area.
I have a Nissian Navara ST-R 3lt Diesel 2002.
Any websites with photos and plans would be great unless any one has info on here that i could use as i am getting the Navara on Dis/Gas in3 weeks and need to know where the dual battery tray would go for future reference.
Thanks
Stephen

My Navara 3.0 lt TD Diesel 2nd battery sits beside the Turbo ,, I hate it
Think of putting it in
the TUB..
Yes thats right,,, I have boiled my deep cycle several times and am not impressed by the fact that it continues to boil.
I do not expect this battery to last more than 18 months, with a heavy work load, ie towing a camper trailer across the
Plenty Highway, and into
Chambers Pillar.
I had to top up the battery every day..Have just finished my tour, ( thursday night home )
Look at the logistics, the 2nd battery is right beside the turbo, therefore, it has to get very hot, and boiling, to me, is no longer an option.
As soon as I can afford it, I will set it up in
the TUB and make the appropiate adjustments, to my system to ensure that I get the full life from the battery
Think about it

we fitted a pirahna duel batery in a str navara on friday.
it sits in the left hand side near the fire wall you have to remove the fuel filter ect but the tray has all new mounting points on it.
cheers

Pictures of a ST-R dual battery install on my website.
Been in for 18 months now and no problems.
Aux battery tray was a Piranha.
It's fine though the fitting instructions recommend bending the fuel line which is avoidable.
If you buy a couple of feet of fuel line you can make a longer line that comes off the barb on the fuel line and curls around to come back to the fuel filter in it's new location on the battery tray mount and no bending is needed.
Let me know if you need any help.
Dave

The problem with mounting it under the bonnet is tempreture. It sits right next to the turbo. When mounted in ths fashion i was told by TJM and ARB that the largest battery you could put in the tray was around 60amp/hr and it required moving fuel fliters and fuel lines.
I fitted a Redarc right next to the car battery and then run some fused heavy wire into the tray of the STR , to an Anderson plug and from there into a battery box that had my fridge plug and a spare Anderson plug fitted to it.
I have a 120amp/hr Fullriver AGM in the box.
Works a treat and can be removed when not required

stephen the second battery is fitted on the passengers side and you will need to bend the fuel line if you use a tjm tray the other problem you will encounter will be you can only use a small battery and you will need to cut part of the battery posts as it will rub on the inside of the bonnet material regards lance
