Just wondering if anyone knows of any
camping areas around
gladstone area that are fairly secluded and are suitable for a boat and ski biscuit, heard about
places such as agnes and awoonga also went up to have a lokk at boynedale but has too many snags and also appears to have a fair bit of blue green algae, if anyone could help that would be great, looking at going in school holidays and dont mind if have to travel for an hour or so to reach destination.

Just a thought.....what about
Calliope River Rest Area? looks like a 3km stretch of
water which could be skiable.

Definately ski area. Plenty of others will be doing the same there most weekends. I see Croc warning signs there but have not heard of anyone being taken there but that's not to say it will stay like this for ever????
One of my most favourite spots to pull up stumps for a few days.

I believe learner skiers call them "motivational signs" :-)

I was up in FNQ when a dark woman (fishing next to me) told me she saw "white fella's" skiing in the
Daintree the week before she was talking to me. Her words were "them there trolling for crocs". Now that's keen IMO.

1770 could be worth a look, although a bit south of
Gladstone.. Good protected stretch of
water- ideal for jet skis and the like.
Also, interesting area- including Agnes Waters and a good drive thru the
Deepwater NP.

kelntroy06,
Get on the ferry to the top of Facing Island to the "Oaks". Top area with
toilets and
water. Ski off
the beach. Might not be secluded in holidays though.
Cheers,
Bros.
