Hi All,

We are off to the Grampians for a week in Mid October. Does anyone know if their is digital mapping available at a better scale than 1:250,000. We have the NATMAP Raster but it is a little too small for the area.

Thanks

Pete

Hello Pajman Pete.
Don't know your location and I'm probably stating the obvious.
Suggest you contact the MELBOURNE MAP CENTRE (03 9569 5472) and ask them about your mapping requirements. I would be surprised if they can't help you but in the very least would point you in the right direction.

They also have a website: www.melbmap.com.au

Hope this can help and have a great time. We have a group going there for cup weekend. Spring after the bushfires should be awesome.

Cheers ...GU

Remember that a lot of it is still pretty burnt out.

A few months ago there were about 2 kangaroos in Zumsteins.

The place looked like Hiroshima mostly.

You might want to be ready to go home via GOR and Cape Otway for interest.

Has anyone been up/down there in the last few weeks?

Ciao for now,
Andrew.

Yeah, we were staying at Narrawong earlier in the year for our last attempt at a Grampians trip. The fires started the day we drove down from Adelaide and all we saw of the Grampians was what was left of the trees blowing past in the smoke cloud!

This time we have some cheap accommodation at Dunkeld (travel auction) and that is the only time I can get off. If it is too booring, we will be off up the GOR again!

This is my first visit there since I was 12 and the Bush Princess has never seen it. Even if the recovery is poor, we will be able to recce for our next trip down.

Cheers

Sounds good. We will be at Dunkeld 8-11 Oct then off to camp somewhere in the hills or flats for the rest of the week. The plan is to do some driving in the first 4 days to find a good spot for a camp. We may make a run up the GOR as well.

I have not been in the Grampians since I was a kid.

MM me and we can work out a plan.

Cheers
