Try this one at Hastings Point (south of Kingscliffe), 5 star and apparently great, esvc000732.wic020u.server-web.com/home.htm

Tweed Coast Shire Council have four in the area.

Kingscliffe - on the front. Mainly surf.

Hastings point, just the other side fo the creek to the north star mentioned above, but has frontage to the creek unlike north star.

Two at Pottsville. My pick is the southern caravan park at Pottsville on the creek.
Been going for over 20 years.

You might be lucky to get a creek frontage.
Christmas is booked out for the next 5 plus years.

Consider yourself lucky. Mine expects hotels, and last year it was Paris. Next year though I think it might just be a caravan park...

We went camping for 2 months for our honeymoon; I consider myself very lucky. I did use the argument that we could go to Daydream Island for one week or for the same price avoid work for two months by camping.

Nice park at Crescent Head on the beach with a frontage to the river.... Plenty of privacy to for those all important "intimate encounters" that seem to happen around anniversaries....Miles of unspoilt beaches with lots of hidy holes in the dunes designed for the aforementioned encounters...take a big towel tho, sand on private parts not good idea....

What does your 'something special' mean? My wife's parents love Fingal Head, just Sth of Tweed Heads. It is a beautiful spot plus very social if that is what you want. I think 'special' means no crowds, no neighbours, no traffic sounds, plenty of bush, beach, birdlife etc.

Kingscliff is on the beach yet across the road from restaurants, hotel, bowls club, cafes etc. The pub has bands on Fri/Sat nights 'til late and Sunday arvo as well and is directly across the road from the caravan park so if you like loud music it is perfect... There is another park at the Nth end of Kingscliff on the beach

Broken Head, just Sth of Byron, is a nice spot. Beautiful coastal walks through pockets of rainforest.

South Ballina has a park near the beach which feels remote yet is only a ferry trip across the river to town. 4wd access to the beach.

Evans Head is another nice spot with beaches and headlands to investigate.

Cars,
The Council Caravan park at Bonny Hills (Between Port Macquarie & Laurieton) sits up on a headland overlooking the sea. Great site & at that time of the year not to many people around. Store across the road sells fast food, is a grocery store, sell liquor & fuel.

Cars,

Agree with Johno about Bonny Hills. The view from their is fantastic so is the view from the caravan park at Corindi just north of Coffs Harbour, its looks towards Woolgoolga. I live in Sawtell just south of Coffs and the caravan park here is also very nice along with the short walk to cafés and restaurants in the main street.

Regards
Ross

Of interest, what's the date of your anniversary??

We celebrate our 29th on the 8th Oct and will be heading to the Millmerran Camp Oven Festival for the occasion. Only the best for her. I don't think she has worked out that the weekend away is the same as the anniversary.

Men tend to remember anniversaries far more than women (and now for the incoming flack!!!) it's just a male thing.
