G`day Truckster,
I am a local in that area, not much for visitors in the bush unless you like looking around old gold mining areas. There is one exception that I reckon is realy worth seeing, that is the operating gold mine at Fosterville north/east of Bendigo, a huge hole, open cut style then tunnelling further from the bottom of the hole.
Anyway check it on your map, it takes about 20-30 min`s from Bendigo on black top.
My 4by is at the doc`s at the moment otherwise I could show you around if you wanted, email me scrub@bigpond.net.au if you wish.
cheers,
Scrubcat.

As said, not much up there, hot, dry and dusty. 29 degrees :D Awesome to be warm again!

Numerous birdlife, but very little in the way of other wildlife, even skippys were rare to see. Plenty of lizards and stuff.

If your into climbing and views, this is aint bad, theres a few mountains/hills to view from...

Nice to get away from it, but the dunny budgies were nuts.. especially with 3 spatted galas between the 2 cars splatted.. :( by next morning there were no signs of the deceased :o

I think if you check out the Terricks you will be impressed. The flora is distinctly different from anywhere else in Vic .It's sort of unique pine forest and when there you are in an entirely different place,
Cheers ,Mary
