Turbo 60 series info needed

Hi guys I just bought myself a factory turbo sahara for a fair price,it needs some work but I was expecting that,when I got it home I noticed the whole motor and head are painted a light blue colour,any of you blokes know if toyota paints there motors this colour,I thought they were usually black,im just thinking its been recoed at some stage,a little bonus I wasnt expecting,if anyone can help out that would be great.

Cant say Ive ever seen a blue Toyota motor ? But if the tappet cover and all the ancilliary gear is painted the same colour then it is very unlikely to be a reconditioners.
but are you saying that you didnt look under the bonnet til you got home!!! Should be at least under there checking that the numbers match the papers but!

Thanks for the reply mate,maybe the motor hadnt been washed for a long time and I didnt really notice the blue paint that much,its only head and block,thanks but if I need a talking to i'll ring me mom.

I've seen plenty of 2H motors (basically the same donk NA) that are blue from the factory.
If the whole thing is blue maybe it has had a new/reco engine.

The 12 HT and 2H are painted blue from the factory exept the rocker cover.
The 1HZ and its turbo derivates are painted black

Yeah thanks alot guys,bugger I thought it must of been rebuilt,I planned on maybe having to do the motor anyway,im a bit surprised at how good those 12ht's go,alot better then my ex bosses troopy's.
