I'm actually refering to the current body shape,,,you know,,,those great big ugly lights they stuck on the back of the new Patrol.
The older model lights have come down alot in price over the last two years.

I was under the impression that Nissan did not fit the lights on one side in Australia, because they failed to meet the 'geometric visibility' requirements of the ADR.
This requires that if two reversing lights are fitted, they must be visible 45 degrees outward and 30 degrees inward (stop lights are 45 degrees both inward and outward, indicators 80 and 45).
I believe that the rear tyre prevents this compliance in the Patrol.
It's unclear to me if fitting these lights means that the vehicle is no longer in compliance however.
The applicable ADR 13/00 is available from here (I think it's current)...

SAv, your right mate.
The important thing is that the original rear bumper lights must still be fully operational to conform to current ADR's.
Adding lights, in this case, the side body lights is fine as long as they are fitted within the mounting height spec's of ADR compliant lights that are normally fitted to the side of vehicles...( the 100 series for example).
