Why not have a look at the Mitsubishi Triton. 3.2 Common Rail DID.
I drove all three of them, Navara, Hilux and Triton and I like the triton the best.
Better optioned and about 3 to 6 grand less expensive that the other two.
I did give Navara my number two vote.

Hey there crabby,I bought a 2005 STR and am pretty happy with it.It has plenty of torque and drives nicely on the bitumen.I have put it through it's paces off road and I cant really fault it.The standard tyres are crap and I suggest and upgrade as soon as you can.My only one complaint is the rear leg room as I have older kids and my boy is 6'1 and has a little trouble on a longer trip but hell he's
young and I just tell him to dry his eye's princess.Oh and for a top of the range vehicle i was disappointed that they went to the trouble of putting speaker holes and speaker covers in the rear doors but they dont give you any speakers in there, only two in the front which is a bit fo a shame.Anyway good luck.
