I am planning a trip to the Dig Tree at Innamincka. While there I would like to meet Bomber Johnson. Bomber was a mate of my Uncle (Brian Mulder) when he worked in the west as a drover many years ago. If anyone has contact details for Bomber please let me know. He was recently working as a custodian of the Dig Tree.

Think I met this guy some years ago. Give the Innaminka Store a ring.

Regards

Mate he'll probably catch up with you on his firewood rounds; top 'old world' type. Enjoy your trip.

Just got back from our big trip , and that included the " Dig Tree ",
If you stay at the " dig tree " for a couple of days, the " Ranger " will find you !

He is a great old bloke, and has a couple of dogs on the back of his Patrol Ute, that love a pat too.
Cheers Bucky

One of the dogs was injured two years ago by an avgas drum falling on it. I was hoping to catch up with Bomber to see how the dog fared but he wasn't there when we were there last, shame really as he is a top bloke to talk to.

We we're there a couple of weeks a go - same sentiment. The old bloke new what he was talking about and a very nice chap indeed, including his 2 dogs :o) He met us at the entrance and told us all about the place. My missus & her 2 cousins are relatives of William Wills (yes, him!) and her 2 cousins have their picture on the info-wall. They cycled Burke & Wills route from Victoria to the Gulf, but they continued all the way to Cap York. Have fun out there.
