I know Toyota is offering great deals on current 100 series Cruisers, which generally means a new model is near. (I don't want the current diff and front suspension)

I have seen the spy pics on other threads. (Hate the spare!)

Has any one an idear when the 130? model will be released in Australia.

I would be surprised if those spy pics are actually the next model and not just a re-vamp of the 105 series. Not really much of a change.

My brother has made enquieries about upgrading his 105 series and he was told the new one will be late 2007.

Who knows?

Shorter bonnet, new engines, rumours of coil IFS, who knows what the rest of the driveline will be, new body shape (albeit with styling cues from the 100), new interior...what else constitutes a new model?

What else can they really do with the driveline while keeping a budget and particularly after being in some ways burned from losing the rigid front axle.

I guess he believed the car sales guy ... there is plenty of evidence a replacement for the 100 Series is coming this year - although it seems like the sort of variation between 80/100 we will get 100/130.

Let's see ...

Wouldn't have anthing to do with the drop in sales because of the fuel prices would it?

I dont think it has been that bad for toyota has it? I thought I saw somewhere that the LC sales were nearly triple? Patrols for the second quarter?

Yeah I`d say its the cost of fuel also. They are doing deals on petrol cruiser and pardo(as is jeep on their petrol models) if you want diesel no deals.

Someone mentioned a while back that last orders (colour choice etc) had to be in by October... That indicates they would be building new ones in the November time frame.

OT

Regardless wether it's the new cruiser or Patrol etc I'd rather buy the last of a model than the first of a new one.

Reasoning - bu the last of a model all of the bugs have been ironed out and if not everyone knows where the issues are i.e. Cruiser - IFS, Patrol 3Lt desiel, etc. With the first of the new model you don't know what little problems are going to develope - IMHO.

You gotta sit tight until 2007 , not sure when. The front suspension will be IFS so not sure what you mean about you don't want it, it will still be IFS, they won't go back to live axle front ends again. The new IFS will be strengthened if there was issues with the current one, not sure.

Due to the factory change (re-tooling) to manufacture the all new LC130 series, there will be an interim model based loosely on a 5 door Troopie - it will get the new engine just so we can all play with it until the more civilised version arrives in Oct/Nov 2007.

The interim one will get the 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 Direct injection Diesel that is currently being hot weather tested in the U.A.E. - this one will apparently be available from Nov'06 but won't look too attractive.....(Troopie - the truck only enthusiasts can love 'cos it is "the mother" of all trucks)

Yeah - I'm biased - I own an '01 LC100 std diesel GXL with aftermarket turbo and heaps of other toys. I love it and I sell them for a living (tough gig but someone has to).

My beast has 150kW of Power but more importantly - 430 Nm of torque from 1400RPM up to 3200RPM - I tow 90% of the time and find it has enough grunt to get places quickly enough that I have to keep my eyes peeled for Mr.Plod and his photographic equipment.

The new engine has 220kW and more importantly 540NM - can't wait to play with that...............AND if anyone asks why - a famous mountain climber once answered that question succinctly by sayin " because it is there"................SO - I've just gotta get one......."because it will be worth the wait"

SO - "Hey True Blue - is it me and you" - don't we share the lucky country !

I gotta correct you here on something you misquoted - the twin turbo intercooled V8 will be in the 100 series replacement, not the troopy replacement. The troopy replacement will get a single turbo non-intercooled version of the same 4.4 V8 diesel.

The 2007 models will come out with no airbags so body lifts will be OK, but 2008 onwards will get twin front airbags.

100 series replacement will come in first half 2008. current economy tests are around 9.9 litres per 100km average.....still testing.

do a search on the topic anyone interested as I have spoken about this on a previous occassion.

enjoy :)
