I can just see it. Both of you exchange 8 hours of services and then have to go to Mr Howards place to work for another 8 hrs (for the good of the country).

Check out Batacard. they have thier own 'currency' for charging which is set by the tradesman. So you can charge in 'batacard dollars' and buy services in batacard dollars. But the prob was my brother ended up with lots of batacard dollard and found spending them on what he wanted to difficult as others would say they're not accepting BC at them moment and that's usually becasue they are in a similar situation.

I've looked into Bartercard. Spoken to a few people who were involved in it. Does knock the cash-flow around. Very limited areas to 'spend' the Bartercard vouchers.

Gotta pay cash up front and they take a (cash) commision.

No website however you could easily ring around and make that offer yourself. We get it all the time. No harm in trying..

an interesting topic this...Now from experience I had quiet a good little enterprise running where I was serviceing cars owned by "certain" women in return for "certain" services that only women can provide. This went well for about 18 months, everyone was happy except as it turned out the Deputy Commisioner for Taxation who somehow discovered my little cash free, but very "rewarding" venture & demanded to see my books, which of course did not exist. To cut to the chase Bartering is apparently illegal if they catch you, in my case it was the website that gave me away. No action was taken in the end simply because the ATO had no "hard" evidence, but I was given some seroius lectures on my duty to the rest of you hard done by taxpayers...
If you want to barter then discretion is the keyword...
